Hey there!
It's been a while since I last popped in here. I decided to hit the pause button on blogging and creating for a bit. It wasn’t that I ran out of things to say (my brain is always overrun with ideas!), but I hit a crossroads. Even though I announced my blog, I wasn’t entirely sure what I _really_ wanted to share and express. Truth be told, The atrocious events the world has been witnessing for the last 7 months made me question everything. I didn’t know if my little blog was even relevant anymore when the earth had become so scorched and full of pain.
But then I realized that through the chaos, I was seeking out little things to bring joy back into my life. Even if it was fleeting, I needed to feel moments of serenity to feel human again. Some way to still celebrate that I am alive, in a place of safety, warmth and…safety. So then wouldn’t you also be seeking calm in this chaos?
The time away gave me space to ponder, to question, and ultimately, to get a clearer picture of what I want to bring to the table. I realized that if I am looking for pockets of serenity in my day to somehow balance the pain the world is going through. Ultimately, I should try to bring those bits of peace, joy or humour to the people I care about. I care about the people here, and many of you I know personally. That makes this even more important to me.
So…I've decided to share the full spectrum of my creativity with you all. Along with enjoying writing, I am a visual artist who uses different mediums to convey my messages. I paint portraits, make digital artwork, and even create children's book illustrations. I hope that at least some of my pieces will put a smile on your face during these very trying times. Maybe a painting will be thought-provoking or possibly inspire you to find your own form of creativity. I truly believe that art is the way the world breathes and heals. I hope to be a part of that healing.
To begin, I'm sharing one of my recent pieces of digital portrait art. I shared this recently on my Instagram page. I happen to also be transitioning my main account ( @sincerely.seema) into one that encompasses my whole self and interests. It's a small window into another part of my world, one that I'm eager to open wider for all of you. Volume up to hear my message in the clip.
And I am trying something new (and scary) here is a version with an Urdu message.
Moving forward, I plan to integrate more of my artistic pursuits into what I share. Expect to see a blend of written content and visual art, interesting anecdotes interwoven with my latest artistic creations. Even pieces of my journey in children's book illustration with details about how it all began. The goal? To give anyone stopping by here a small moment of something heartfelt and to connect on a deeper level.
Creativity takes courage.
